Preserving Childhood Dreams, Securing Future Possibilities
Building Futures Through Collectibles
The Magic Toybox is a North Carolina nonprofit that collects rare, vintage, and highly collectible toys on behalf of autistic foster children. We curate and preserve each item in our climate-controlled facility, growing a child's collection over time so that when they turn 18 and leave foster care, they own a real financial asset, a curated portfolio they can sell to fund education, training, or any path they choose. We believe every child deserves to start adulthood with something of their own. Through long-term stewardship and careful preservation, we transform cherished collectibles into future opportunities, helping create a stronger foundation for independence and lifelong success.
Three Steps, One Life-Changing Gift
We Collect
Our team actively sources rare, vintage, and highly collectible toys, from mint-condition action figures and vintage board games to limited-edition die-cast models and sought-after memorabilia — focusing on items with proven or growing resale value.
We Preserve
Every toy is carefully catalogued and stored in our climate-controlled, secure facility. Temperature, humidity, and light exposure are all carefully managed to protect and grow the value of each piece across years, or even decades.
We Deliver a Future
When an enrolled child turns 18, they receive their curated collection, a real portfolio of rare toys they can sell to fund education, vocational training, or any pathway they choose. A gift that grows with them.
Every Contribution Becomes Part of a Child's Future
Every donation helps acquire, preserve, and protect collectible assets for autistic children in foster care, creating future opportunities, supporting long-term independence, and expanding access to a unique asset-building program.
